Reply with quote | #2 | You mean we didn't win? Yes, we're in a sorry state and we can't claim that we're a good side if we are not confident of getting a result against ANY team in the BPL. What's worse, all the other teams have NO fear in facing us and instead they are the ones who are confident of picking up THREE points against us. Sigh! |

Apart from a purple patch midway through Zola's reign, where we played some excellent football the latter part of last season was crap. This form has continued this season and it's about time Zola and Clarke realised we do not have players of Chelsea's quality to go out and play the same football. I am the first to praise Zola for his flair, but when the chips are down and we need points we must consider our tactics to win points. Without decent players I can only see us going one way this season and its down! Even if someone takes over the club and is prepared to spend money, by the time January comes around we will be firmly stuck at the bottom, with a momentous task ahead of us to get out of it. We all know that new owners have their preferences on the management team and if they give Zola and Clarke the chop it will be tough for Bilic (did I say that) to get us out of it. |

Reply with quote | #4 | Yes, it's becoming very obvious that Zola do not have the experience or technical guile to get us out of the hole we are in. He reminds me of Ron Greenwood who stuck to his principles with single-mindedness for flair football and Zola's results are now as bad as Greenwood's.
4-3-3 do not work when we don't have the players for it or our players do not have the confidence for attacking football. Now is the time to play some ugly football and grind out a few results to restore the players' confidence.
When things dont go right, all Zola do is throw in Hines and Stanislas towards the end hoping for something to happen. And last Sat bringing on Franco in the 90th min. was sheer desperation. |
